Prayer and Spirituality

The gift of prayer has many forms and variations but in its simplest form it is drawing nearer, little by little, to the living God.

 

For Jesus, the prophets and the saints, prayer was a continuing encounter with God and it gave them strength and wisdom in their trials and persecutions, as well as often being a source of joy and peace.

 

We can all pray and if you think you’d like some help see the websites on the left-hand side of the page.

 

For the more experienced of you, you might like to try the Daily Office, a combination of praise, bible readings and intercession or the Rosary, a traditional form of meditative prayer.

 

The Society also organises retreats during which prayer plays a large role.  This year’s pilgrimage is to Burford Priory in June.  If you are interested in joining us, please e-mail us on info@missionsociety.org.uk.  Please also e-mail us if you would like us to pray for someone or for yourself.  We are very happy to do so!
